Thanksgiving Day Turkey recipe

Thanksgiving day is approaching! Why not getting ready with a…guess what? Turkey recipe of course! Credits to Robin C. for the recipe!

  • 1 (12 pound) whole turkey
  • 6 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cups warm water
  • 3 tablespoons chicken bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons seasoning salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 Celsius degrees). Rinse and wash turkey. Discard the giblets if you don’t like them, or add to pan if they are anyone’s favorites.
Place turkey in a roasting pan. Separate the skin over the breast to make little pockets. Put 3 tablespoons of the butter on both sides between the skin and breast meat. This makes for very juicy breast meat.
In a medium bowl, combine the water with the bouillon. Sprinkle in the parsley and minced onion. Pour over the top of the turkey. Sprinkle seasoning salt over the turkey.
Cover with alluminum foil, and bake in the oven 3 and a half to 4 hours, until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 180 degrees F (which is 80 degrees C).Keep it under control with a meat termometer. For the last 45 minutes or so, take off the alluminum foil so the turkey can brown nicely.

  1. thanksgiving song says:

A big thumb’s up to you and Robin C. for this recipe which I used for my very first ‘practice’ Thanksgiving dinner. (Don’t want to blow it in front of all those relatives on T-day.). I am jumping for joy elated to report that the XX I made using your wonderful recipe was successful. Big time. I can’t believe that I did it. (Normally I never seem to get it right on the first try.) So thank you, thank you. It’s no doubt due to your terrific and easy-to-follow instructions.
